This year, 2011, in the day that our Lord’s Jesus Christ Baptizm was celebrated, the employees of the Airport and the travelers could take part to the first liturgy held in the chapel, performed by father Bogdan Nastasiu, the priest that had been recently ordained to care for the souls of the people who traveled from that location.
After the first liturgy, there was the mass for the blessing of the water, thus every person present there could take along the Holy Water.
Father Bogdan Nastasiu sated: “There has never been held a Holy Liturgy in this chapel and it was the will of God to celebrate it in the very day when our Lord was baptized. With the support of the Airport management team, to whom we are grateful, we succeeded in finishing the work on the chapel so that today we were able to enjoy this special day. Even if the chapel is very small, many people came to receive the blessing of this first liturgy.”
On night of April 23rd, Father Bogdan Nastasiu held, for the first time in Saint Elijah Chapel, the liturgy to celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection. This was a blessing for all the travelers and the people on duty that night who, otherwise, wouldn’t have been able to attend the holy mass.
Therefore, everybody has now the chance to get closer to God, to prey and light a candle for their dear ones.
